Hello Community, today we want to make you familiar with the so called Altitude Profile-Service (APS). Through the APS you can request an - guess what - Altitude Profile, for the next 50 kilometers of your route. The data this service is based on the freely available NASA SRTM3 altitude data and is especially interesting for bikers and hikers. The service was originally created by Sjors Provoost. You owe him the credits This is how it looks like in AndNav2: Note: The availability of this service is currently really limited, to some specific areas in Germany: Heidelberg and Berlin. Why? The server-capabilities Anyway, the next version will contain this feature - for the (for now) lucky ones. Best Regards, Nicolas & Pascal PS: Oh we almost forgot... if you are familiar with the image below, routing might be close...

Hello Community,
I found this awesome video of how the OpenStreetMap-Data evolved over the ear 2008. Every flashing line represents a change in the data.
Why do we tell you this? - because this means that the map-data AndNav2 is based on is being constantly improved by the OpenStreetMap-Community!
More than words...
Awesome work guys!
Best Regards,
Nicolas

Hello Community, today we want to make you familiar with the Traffic-Feed Feature of AndNav2. Andnav2 is able to parse data from all TPEG-ML-Feeds that you give it (if not, send us the url and we will fix this). You can find a list of URLs here: http://trafficfeeds.andnav.org What AndNav2 not yet does is to use these information to avoid the traffics. But this feature is on the ToDo-List This is how it looks like:
We hope to get a new bleeding version out as all (licensing) issues seem to be fixed now . Best Regards, Nicolas & Pascal

Hello Community, we have just launched an Accessory-Shop right here on andnav.org. Through this shop, you support andnav.org with 5,5% of what you buy. No extra charge for you! The following items, which will improve your navigation-experience, are available: - Car-Holders
- Car-Chargers
- Memory-Cards
Unfortunately my permanent-residence is in Germany and therefore in need to figure out how to create a shop for foreign countries, like the U.S. .
Best Regards, Nicolas
