This version seems to work fine on my Hero v1.5! :)
When you first select the city or street etc it will issue a 'force close' message, but this doesn't close the app. If you then select the city or street again it will calculate the route!
Also try and download the "Text-To-Speech Extended" app first, as it may have changed it's name on the market place and that's why you get an error when trying to download.
Thanks very much for this version. Quote
.apk file is the one you should install and nothing else would work!
If it fails, check, if the file got downloaded correctly.
You can download it from your laptop, and overwrite any entry in your AndroidSD-Card/Downloads/* folder. Then just execute it from the browser's download history.
G-luck!

Thank you for the working real-time navigation.
However after tests it crashes every-so-often during real-time navigation — tried with and without text-to-speech on my 1.5 Android on Openmoko FreeRunner (hence the immense slowdown during realtime tts)
Thank you,

BUT, FUCKIN BEUTIFULE!

Updated to latest version (Funny thing is Nicolas tried to make it work on 1.5 but as soon as you do routing, it fails again). This version should work with realtime routing and without. Thanks Sledge. Quote
I've also got this problem with my HTC Hero.
Someone who knows how to fix this? Quote
Of course, without it it is not that neat then, but still usable.
Dear bethanked Anders Rune Jensen, can you hack down also this problem. Because I think it occurres still when realtime navigation starts to work, it still looks for text2speech again, so your hack might be incomplete.
Same bug to reproduce: load a saved fetched offline route with realtime navigation on (will crash) and with off (won't)
