Hello Community, the OpenStreetMap-project, which provides the data AndNav2 is based on, could need your help. In 2008 there was a huge import of US government map-data, called "TIGER"-data. There were so many streets that they could not be imported manually and a batch-script was used. Unfortunately in some cases the data needs some tiny manual improvement that can only be done by a helping hand, that could be you... For more information on how to help, have a look here: - http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/TIGER_fixup

Hello Community, today I updated AndNav1 on the Android Market. Thsi updated Beta will run at least to Dec. 31st 2008. It also contains Veecheck (by Tom Gibara) the updater-checker also used in AndNav2. Other changes are: - GPS is now queried as soon as AndNav is opened.
- So chance the GPS-receiver provides already 'hot' locations when opening the map-screens is bigger.
- Before the GPS was more likely still 'warming up'.
- A bug with the Contacts was fixed, which caused a 'Force Close'
- 'Last working Route' can now be kept when non was found during route-refetching.
- some more...

Hello Community, you might have been aware of the fact that I recently did not have the time to develop AndNav2 further. (Speaking of the TTS-issues, that caused a couple of Force-Closes ) Due to the fact that I don't see any light on my timetable-horizon I decided to OPEN-SOURCE AndNav2. (This is the moment you are meant to burst out into tears of happiness!) Within moments you'll be able to find the sources on: http://code.google.com/p/andnav/ Any help is appreciated. The Plan My Plan is that everybody can request control to the repository by sending a mail to me. To prevent chaos, I'll be the one that pushes stable versions to the Android Market, while all current versions can be downloaded from the Google-Code project-page. The issue-tracker will be the place where bugs and new tasks being worked on will be listed. The place for all discussions will be this Google-Group Best Regards, Nicolas |

Hello Community, the Beta that ran out are 100% my fault... AndNav1 (on the market) and AndNav2 have been updated! (I hope I didn't make a mistake in this quick fix) Holidays and family have taken so much time that I forgot that the Betas ran out Also I've been on the road since Wednesday and couldn't check my mails and up a new version. So... that means I'll work double shifts on AndNav for you in the coming weeks. From Monday on I'll be 100% (ok 200% back for AndNav ) Maybe there will soon be something about ... traffic Best Regards, Nicolas |
